| The Engraved effect allows you to create an engraving. Engraving is the practice of incising a design on to a hard, usually flat surface, by cutting grooves into it. The result may be a decorated object in itself, as when silver, gold, steel, or glass are engraved, or may provide an intaglio printing plate, of copper or another metal, for printing images on paper as prints or illustrations; these images are also called engravings. |

 | | Threshold |

Use this option to change the threshold value. Pixels whose grayscale value is less than or equal to a certain threshold are set to the foreground color (or primary color). Pixels whose grayscale value is bigger than a certain threshold are set to background color (or secondary color).
Min = 0, Max = 100, Default = 40.

|
Use this option to set the line width in pixels.
Min = 1, Max = 25, Default = 2.

|
|
This option allows you to adjust the distance between two lines.
Min = 0, Max = 100, Default = 4.

|
This option allows you to change the rotation angle.
Min = 0, Max = 180, Default = 30.

|
|
| This option allows you to make the background color transparent.
|

| This option allows you to change the foreground color.

| This option allows you to change the background color.

|
|
| Use this option to change the hatching style. Hatching is an artistic technique used to create tonal or shading effects by drawing (or painting or scribing) closely spaced parallel lines. Hatching is especially important in essentially linear media, such as drawing, and many forms of printmaking, such as engraving, etching and woodcut. When lines are placed at an angle to one another, it is called cross-hatching.
