Create a Pop Art Image
Step 1: Open an image
Open one or more images that you wish to use in your Andy Warhol-style Pop Art image.
Open an image. In the menu click File > Open > File (Ctrl+O).
Step 2: Select a Pop Art (Andy Warhol) effect
Select an Andy Warhol effect from the Effects list or in the menu click Effects > Andy Warhol.
Step 3: Select the number of images in the horizonal and vertical direction
Select the number of images in the horizonal and vertical direction by setting the Width and Height. The maximum number of images in both directions is 20.
Step 4: Check 'Multiply' to repeat the image
Check the option 'Multiply' to repeat the image horizontally and vertically. Changing the 'Width' and 'Height' value will increase or decrease the number of images in the horizontal and vertical direction.
Uncheck this option to use a single image. The image is devided in 'Width' panels in the horizonal direction and 'Height' panels in the vertical direction.
Step 5: Check 'Combine' to combine multiple images into one Pop Art Image.
Check the option 'Combine' to combine multiple images into one Pop Art image. Uncheck this option to repeat the first image several times. Find out the right order in which to open the images or use the 'Images' panel to change the order of the images.
The 'Images' panel
Use the 'Images' panel to change the source image for a panel or to add a new source image. To change the source image for a panel, click on the corresponding panel and select an image from de drop-down list.
To open a new image, click on the 'Folder' button. The new image will appear in the list of images and can now be used for all the panels. Click the blue arrow button to restore the default arrangement of the images.
Step 6: Check 'Vectorize Image' to vectorize the image.
Check 'Vectorize Image' to vectorize the image. Vectorization is the conversion of raster graphics (pixels) into vector graphics such as points, lines, curves, and polygons. The original raster image is converted into vectorized polygons. By selecting this option, the 'Multiply' option is automatically checked. Some options are not available for vectorized images. The 'Combine' option and the 'Images' panel become hidden and the 'Vectorize' panel becomes visible.
Use the 'Vectorize' panel to change the length of the line segments in the vectorized image. The length of a line segment is the distance between two points of a polygon. The larger the distance the lower the complexity of the polygon. If the distance is too large, the image will become disordered. Select the option 'Curve' to draw a smooth line through the corner points of a polygon. When this option is unselected, the corner points of the polygon are connected by straight lines.
Step 7: Adjust the Opacity, Blur, and Contrast

Drag the Opacity slider to adjust the opacity of the Pop Art image. A high value makes the Pop Art image less transparent, while a low value makes the Pop Art image more transparent so the original (grayscale) image shines through.

Drag the Blur slider to adjust the strength of the blur effect. A low value increases the amount of detail, while a high value makes the image appear more diffuse. This option can also be used to remove noise from the image.

Drag the Contrast slider to adjust the contrast. A low value reduces the amount of detail, while a high value shows much local variation.

Drag the Levels slider to limit the color palette or range of tones (if applicable). Values can range from 1 color to 255 colors.
Select a dithering method (if applicable). Threshold, Dithering or Error Diffusion (Floyd-Steinberg, Burkes or Stucki). For Threshold, drag the slider to set the threshold value. Pixels with grayscale values greater than or equal to the threshold value are displayed in white or the light color. The other pixels are displayed in black or the dark color.
Change the spacing between the panels
Drag the slider to change the spacing between the panels. The spacing is a percentage of the panel dimensions. A value of 0 means that there will be no space between the panels. To change the color of the gaps between the panels, click the color button to open the color palette or use the pipette to select a color from the image.
Add a signature
You can add a signature of Andy Warhol to the bottom of the image. Use the button to change the signature color.
Randomize, save, and open color schemes.
Click the 'Randomize colors' button (dice button) to try out random color schemes. Click the 'Default values' button (arrow button) to restore the predefined values. Click the 'Save' button to save your current color schemes. Click the 'Open' button to open previously saved color schemes. Click the 'Add to Favorites' button to add the effect settings to your list of favorites.
Custom Colors
You can define custom colors or use the predefined color schemes.
Click on one of the pictograms to change the colorscheme. The preview dialog will appear. Click on the buttons to change the colors in the color scheme and press the OK button to confirm.
The predefined color schemes
Check a predefined color scheme to include it in your Pop Art Image. Check 'All' to select all predefined color schemes. Check 'None' to uncheck all predefined color schemes.
Click the rotate colors icon to rotate the custom and predefined color sets. Color rotation lets you exchange one color in the color scheme to another color in the same color scheme (color1 > color2, color2 > color3, color3 > color1) .
Favorites and History
Click the 'Favorites' button to show or hide the favorites and history. Click the 'Add to Favorites' button to add the effect settings to your list of favorites. Click the 'Delete Favorite' button to delete the selected favorite. Click the 'Delete All Favorites' button to delete the entire list of favorites. Click the 'Download Favorites' button to upload and download favorites from the Pop Art Studio website.
The History list shows a list of all the actions that have taken place in the preview window. Click on an action in the history list to Undo or Redo back to that action. It's the same as choosing Undo or Redo multiple times.
OK + Export as Layers
This option allows you to apply the effect and create multiple layers, each of which can be manipulated without affecting any other part of the image.
Export as SVG
This option allows you to apply the effect and export the image in SVG format. Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is an XML-based vector image format for two-dimensional graphics with support for interactivity and animation. The SVG specification is an open standard developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Crop the image
It might be useful to crop the image before you apply the effect. This is very convienient for large images and images with disturbing background elements.
